About

"In this digital age we have witnessed superstars launch careers from their armchairs and seen the music industry turned on it's head. The dust is beginning to settle now as we move into a new period of calm. Only one note can be heard on the breeze and with that note comes a vision ..."

V Note is the creation of solo artist, song writer and percussionist Lloyd Crosswell.

Born in 1984 Lloyd was bought up with music in his blood. From an early age he took an interest in music and through his youth developed skills in a number of areas but focused mainly on drums and percussion. Lloyd played in a number of small groups and ensembles through his early teens learning to read and write music as he went along. From the ages of 16 - 18 he played for the acclaimed Hampshire Youth Jazz Orchestra and toured parts of Northern Europe as well as recording at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios in London.

At the age of 19 Lloyd played in the National Students Jazz Collective for the Kaunas Jazz Festival, Lithuania. This gave him the opportunity to perform with some of the most talented young musicians in the country and fuelled Lloyd's passion for Jazz. The experience remains a great influence on Lloyds life and music ever since and helped sharpen his creative and technical skills in writing and performing.

Lloyd has now been playing drums for 12 years and has been writing his own music for 7 of these. His musical catalog so far consists of over 20 performance pieces, 15 studio recordings and scores more soundtracks, beats and melodies. His recent work includes composing trailer soundtracks, solo electro funk and jazz tracks and a number of collaborations with Dan Day (A talented lyricist/vocalist) and also with a complete 5 piece band. To date Lloyds music has featured on several radio stations (including BBC Radio Solent, Pulse Rated and Express FM), one of Lloyds tracks has also been awarded second place in the industry acclaimed overplay 'unsigned artist' competition and 2 of his tracks have featured on trailers for best selling books.

When interviewed Lloyd Crosswell had the following to say about the future of V Note:
"V Note has been in the making for nearly 4 years now and I feel that only now am I finally ready to take things to the next stage. I've enjoyed working with Dan Day over the past year and hope to continue to create music in this genre, however I would also like to broaden my horizons and work with some different vocalists in the near future, I hope this will also broaden the spectrum of genres covered by the V Note brand" ...

And when asked to define V Note in a genre:
... "I've never looked to confine myself or my collaborators to one particular style or industry. Music is a broad term, there's as much room for creativity and passion in an advert jingle as there is in a power ballad. Creative use of beats and melodies need not be seen as selling out, I think it shows versatility as an artist".
